Welcome Students and Prospective Students!
Student diversity is an important part of what makes Portland State a vibrant and engaged academic community. Research in social psychology indicates that critical thinking and problem solving is improved when people work in groups that are diverse. Portland State students, faculty, and staff often speak of the diversity on our campus as one of the most positive and significant aspects of the Portland State experience.
The people you will meet in the offices and programs listed below are dedicated to making Portland State campus a welcoming place for all of our students, and to helping every student towards academic success. We seek to welcome and serve students of diverse race, gender, ethnicity, culture, age, sexual orientation, religion, political viewpoint, military background, national origin, marital status, or disability. Please contact us if you cannot find what you need.
Student Groups
Are you looking for a student group? Portland State’s students are diverse, community-minded, and creative. That is why we have so many active and exciting student groups on campus, many of them organized around specific cultural groups or multicultural interests.
